abstract = {This article explores the differences in information seeking and reading behaviour of faculty in academic institutions. The authors of this article conducted a survey of seven American and Australian institutions through a self-reported web survey. The 1688 respondents were asked questions related to a variety of demographic and contextual factors relating to their position as readers. The authors were interested in uncovering how academic article fit into the process of scholarship today. The survey results indicated that subject discipline and work responsibility were determining factors in reading behaviour while productivity, age, and purpose of reading had less of an effect.},
