abstract = {This article explores user-generated metadata for collections of photos on Flickr. The authors argue that collections are an important building block of information organization as they identify common characteristics between objects. In their analysis of photo collections on Flickr, the authors found that most of the data is unstructured. Photos are divided into types or sets and, in some instances; informal peer reviews of photos are conducted through online commenting. In light of their findings, authors argue that metadata schema must be developed to align with anticipated user needs and interests. },
