Tulip is an "information visualization framework dedicated to the analysis and visualization of relational data". Tulip aims at facilitating the design of "interactive information visualization applications for relational data" while maintaining enough flexibility to be tailored to address the individual research questions of individual scholars. Tulip is written in C++ framework which enables the development of "algorithms, visual encodings, interaction techniques, data models, and domain-specific visualizations". Tulip's four main project - NOSSI, Porgy, Systrip, and rNav - were all developed in a scientific context but are applicable to other disciplines and fields. The project softwares allow users to create digital renderings of networks in a rich and manipulable environment.
